This site presents many lessons I have learned as an Engineer/Functional Manager/ Program Manager. It is specific to the embedded electronics design, although I believe it is applicable to other specialties. I have also designed and implemented many projects and departments from scratch, and I have included a lot of material on how to do that too.
My specialty is taking things from concept to actual results. I have put together things from the ground up many times, then pitted them against competition and saw how they worked out.
Much of the advice I see online for engineering management is theoretical, or only covers a small part of a specific process. I have developed this site based on practical experience. I also compare the strengths and weakness of various techniques, to allow you to chose the best methods for your situation. Based on my experience, I primarily cover development projects, and methods to handle risk.
This site is intended to be a reference. I recommend using it when you are faced with an unusual, difficult, different or new situation, to give you some advice from someone who has been through it a few times. There is probably something in here to help.
