Like Pecan pie never was. This recipe originally came from Ailene Schmitz, who was the backyard neighbor of Lois and Paul, when they lived in Hudson, Florida.
Ingredients
3/4 c. sugar
6 tbsp margarine or butter (soft)
2 eggs
2/3 c. dark corn syrup
2/3 c. regular oats
1 tsp vanilla
1 9" unbaked pie shell
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Mix all ingredients. Pour into shell and bake for 40-50 minutes until done.
OPTIONAL; A pecan half may be placed in the middle before baking or chopped pecans can be sprinkled lightly on top.
