20130819 Vandalism Again!!

It is both a curse and the reason why our little oasis of green is so much needed and so much in danger.

The intense concentration of disadvantaged people in poor housing make each turf of grass a needed blessing but it has to contend with the inevitable frustrations and mental dereliction that are also equally inevitable.

This time a tree was badly damaged in the playground. Apparently a tall bearded man with a Caribbean accent has over two nights baited his large dog into attacking one of the larger tree there. One of the few Robinia pseudoacacia trees we have in the park.

The bark have been stripped (apparently the reprobate helped it out by pulling strips out) and very likely the tree will die.

Also one of playground facilities (it has been repaired before, again due to adults pulling it) a sort of wobble board much popular with little children, had been dislocated.

It is so sad to see how a tiny minority can cause so much damage to the great majority!!
