We have one rule that we live by in our class: The Golden Rule

It's a simple rule, and the only rule we really need in our class: it is the Golden Rule! We may not live in a perfect world, but we have the power to make our world a better place in which for all to live.

“Do unto others as you would have done to you.” The Golden Rule

The golden rule is best interpreted as saying: "Treat others only in ways that you're willing to be treated in the same situation." So please treat everyone with respect and dignity if you want to be treated with respect and dignity.

This rule covers people and animals, as well as things. If you use or borrow a book or a pencil, please return it to the owner in the best possible condition, so that it's usable for the owner or another person.

To apply it, you'd imagine yourself in the exact place of the other person on the receiving end of the action. If you act in a way that offends or hurts another, and yet are unwilling to be treated that way in the same circumstances, then you violate the rule.

If you break something, it's not the end of the world, so please tell me so that I can replace or fix it.

Thanks!
