The Lincoln County Schools staff, together with students, parents, agencies, and volunteers, encourages the development of positive character traits, which promotes a safe and healthy community. The character traits that were established by the Lincoln County Character Education Task Force are:
Respect - showing courtesy, tolerance, acceptance of yourself and others
Responsibility - being accountable for one's own actions, words, and deeds
Fairness - treating others in a just and honest way
Courage - doing what is needed and right
Caring - treating others as you would like to be treated, demonstrating kindness, compassion, charity, and concern
Cooperation - working together for a common goal
Honesty - telling the truth, being true to yourself as well as others
Self-Discipline - having the ability to control oneself for the sake of improvements and taking responsibility for one's words and behavior
Perseverance - being persistent in the pursuit of worthy objectives. Try, try again
Citizenship - serving the community, protecting the environment, and obeying the law
