Possible Tasks:
ROOM REPS – Plan parties, recruit parent help with activities. One main rep is needed, though others may be involved in the planning of the activities.
PANDA FOLDERS – (Thursdays after 12:30) Put papers in the Panda Folders.
WRITERS WORKSHOP HELPER: Help students write, edit, and revise.
READERS WORKSHOP HELPER: Read with a child, or small group, working on fluency and comprehension.
MATH GAME LEADER: Lead small groups of students playing math games.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES: Help students with project (afternoons).
PROJECT CORNERSTONE READER – Attend Project Cornerstone trainings and share the character building lessons with the class. Classroom lessons involve reading a book, discussing the lesson taught in the story, and guiding activities related to the story. This program is part of the Caring School Community activities at Stocklmeir.
FIELD TRIP CHAPERONE: Chaperone students while we attend field trips throughout the school year.
Volunteer Requiements
* Live Scan fingerprinting must be completed
* Have a valid TB test on file in the office.
* COVID Vaccination
* Sign in at the office when you arrive.
* Wear a volunteer name badge while on campus.
* Keep student information/performance confidential.
(This applies if you are helping to correct papers at home as
well as helping in class.)
· Volunteers who could be with students without the presence of certificated staff, even for a short time before, during or after school day (e.g:- field trips, weekly support volunteers for classroom like copy runners, Panda folder stuffers, running club helpers, noon activity providers (YMCA), computer lab helpers, arts assistants etc.,)
· Parents helping at recurring special events, such as class room holiday parties, dances, enrichment activities, competitions, drama, music productions etc., during the school year
· Parents\guardians\relatives who will attend or help at more than one class room event in one school year
· Parents who regularly eat or stay with his\her child at the lunch table during the lunch break
· Parents driving individual autos on field trips
· Parents accompanying students on over-night field trips
Parents who are required to be fingerprinted & cleared by Department of Justice
Parents who are not required to be fingerprinted & cleared by Department of Justice
Parents who will have infrequent, occasional contact with students and who will always be supervised by certificated staff while volunteering (e.g:- parent reader to whole-class, parent career day presenter, one time volunteer who helps during picture days, holiday class parties, Halloween parade etc., - please make sure that the teacher is always present)
