Language

The Language Arts program provides weekly activities for reading, writing, listening and speaking. A variety of strategies are used to accommodate the wide range of abilities, interest levels and learning styles of individual students within the class.

A diverse selection of reading materials is used to develop specific reading skills, consolidate concepts, maintain students interest and encourage curiosity, creativity and independence. Opportunities are provided for students to develop healthy positive attitudes towards reading. The goal is to help them become successful readers, writers and effective communicators with a love and passion for books.

Language Arts skills will be integrated with all other parts of the curriculum and students will continue to develop the necessary skills and reading strategies essential for success.
