Spelling

**Spelling Tests on the last day of the week**Spelling will be taught as it relates to individual needs in written work and in the development of vocabulary related to the integrated curriculum. Specific skills and strategies will be investigated and incorporated in the daily writing program. Students will be instructed to use a variety of resources to help them with their spelling and to enhance their skills as writers. From the Speller sometimes, and class anthologies, students will be having weekly ‘word focus’ quizzes which will help students learn to spell frequently used words and vocabulary correctly. This in turn aids to help develop their ability to correctly spell new words and apply the expected conventions with greater accuracy.
