Group Ecology Project

Working with a team of your choosing, you will produce an electronic (Prezi, PPT, google site, etc.) summary and extension of your ecosystem in a jar project. The project must have four distinct sections, as outlined below:

1. Lessons from my jar (repeat for each member)

Three Positives. (and why they are positives)

Three Negatives. (and why they are negatives)

Three Questions I have about my jar.

2. Designing the perfect group ecosystem

A 1:2 scale diagram of the group ecosystem.

The amount of air, water, substrate and why.

Detail the sources and amounts used and why.

Quantify and describe plants added and why.

Quantify and describe animals added and why.

Quantify sources of microlife and why.

3. Predictions and Observations.

In a chart format, give your predictions by Wed.

In the same chart, write your observations.

Your own ecosystem project paper must be handed in by Wednesday, May 9.

Your group jar must be completed and closed up by Wednesday, May 9.

Your own jars must be cleaned up or taken home by Friday.

Your group project must be completed by Wed, June 6.

You must complete a group self evaluation, which partitions 100 marks between group members, and includes an explanation for the proportions given.
