Hello!

Before I started elementary school, my mom and I traveled the world with my dad, who was a pilot for Pan Am. In third grade we moved to Georgia, and that is where I graduated high school and went to University of Georgia to study art education. My fifth grade teacher, Ms. Stringer, inspired me to want to become a teacher, and when I was in high school taking multiple art classes I new I wanted to teach art. In college I was able to observe art classes of all grades and ultimately realized elementary was the perfect fit for me! Through University of Georgia I was able to study abroad in Italy, Costa Rica, and Ecuador, along with doing a student exchange in UMASS, Amherst for semester. After college, I decided to move to Charlotte despite not knowing anyone. I was a substitute for over a year and then got hired at Idlewild Elementary, where I work now. For six years I was split between two schools. I love to make art as well as teach it, and my favorite medium is watercolor. When I am not teaching or making art, I am spending time with my husband and son. We love to read books, play games, watch movies, enjoy beautiful weather and spend time with family.
