April 2022. Dr. Jahan received competitive Miami University Committee on Faculty Research (CFR) grant totaling about $25k + 1 year tuition waiver for a graduate student ($33k).
2021
December 10, 2021. Mahmudul Hassan successfully defended his MS thesis. He will be starting his PhD journey from Spring 2022.
Dr. Jahan is a co-PI on a funded research grant of $150,000 (PI: Dr. Asma Perveen) that allows collaboration between Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan and Miami University, USA.
Dr. Jahan gave a Keynote Speech (online) at the "12th International Conference on Materials Processing and Characterization (ICMPC 2021), 6th - 9th Oct, Chandigarh, India".
Dr. Jahan received a funding of $25,000 from LAM Research Corporation for competitive proposal under "Unlock ideas program".

2020
The Capstone Project advised by Dr. Jahan won the "Best Manufacturing Project, 2020" Award. Congratulations to the TEXTRON team!
Our project with M K Morse was extended for one more year with additional funding of $35,000. Thanks to MK Morse for their continued collaboration.
Dr. Jahan has been selected to serve as the track co-chair for the Material Removal Track for SME's NAMRC 2021. He also serves as the scientific committee member of SME NAMRC for 2020-2022.
Dr. Jahan will continue serving as a track co-chair for the Advanced Manufacturing track of ASME's IMECE 2021 conference.
Dr. Jahan is now the graduate program director in the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering department at Miami University.
Asif Rashid has successfully defended his MS thesis. He will start his PhD at Georgia Tech from August 2020. Congratulations and All the Best to Asif!

Christina Praprost won prestigious Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) scholarship for conducting research with Dr. Jahan FY 2020-21.
Dr. Jahan will give an invited talk at the 7th International Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing in the symposium "Emerging Researchers at Sustainable Manufacturing Showcase" to be held at Lexington, KY on September 17th - 18th, 2020.
Nick Cococcetta has successfully defended his MS thesis and completed all the requirement of MS in Mechanical Engineering. He will be joining General Motors (GM) from July 1, 2020. Congratulations Nick!
Dr. Jahan is serving as an Acting Graduate Program Director for Spring 2020 for the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program.
2019
Dr. Jahan has been elected as a Track co-chair for Advanced Manufacturing track at IMECE 2020 to be held in Portland, Oregon. He successfully organized the Advanced Machining and Finishing topic for last two years, which was the biggest topic among all the topics in Advanced Manufacturing track.
Dr. Jahan has been invited to serve in the technical committee as well as an invited keynote speaker at International Conference & Exposition on Mechanical, Material and Manufacturing Technology (ICE3MT 2020), which will be held at CVR College of Engineering (UGC Autonomous Institution), Hyderabad, INDIA, during June 12-13, 2020.

Dr. Jahan received competitive Tech Fee grant of $22,000 from Miami University.
Md Rashef Mahbub won one of the "Top three best oral presentations" award in the Miami University Graduate Research Symposium held on Nov 9th.. He will receive $300 prize and a certificate of best presentation. Congrats to Rashef!
Chong Liu won the "Best Presentation Award" at the 2018 Dayton Engineering Science Symposium (DESS 2018) organized by ASME Dayton Section. Congrats to Chong!
Dr. Jahan received a grant of $5200 from the Nazarvayev University, Kazakhstan for conducting research on EDM of ceramics.

Dr. Muhammad Jahan is a Co-PI in a funded RAPID grant that allows Miami University to acquire Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics facilities using the support from Ohio Higher Education, Total funding: $399,357. Other co-PIs for the grant are: Drs. Michael Bailey-Van Kuren, Giancarlo Corti, Zhijiang Ye, Ayodele Abatan, Mert Bal, and Reza AbrishamBaf.
