As you are all well aware that Phase 1A is well in progress with the work on Round Spinney roundabout.
There was a meeting on 10Dec2014 Moulton Village hall - about Phase 1B of the development.
Phase 1B started at the moulton round about in 2016 (due to problems with compulsory purchase order near round spinney end)
A lack of funding means that the development of the proposed dual carriageway construction will be split into at least 4 phases.
Phases of the A43 improvements are as follows:
Phase 1a (Improvements to Round Spinney roundabout) - £3.425m funded by
Government’s Local Pinch Point and Local Transport Body funding.
Phase 1b (Round Spinney to Moulton roundabout) - £18.75m funded by Local
Transport Body, New Homes Bonus, developer contributions and potentially Local
Growth Fund. was set to start Spring 2015 (started 2016)
Phase 2 (Moulton roundabout to Holcot/Sywell roundabout) – approximately £20m. (phase 2a started 2016)
Funding sources similar to Phase 1b.
Further phases – approximately £65m. Funding sources to be determined.
Further phases - Further extension of dual carriageway from the Holcot/Sywell roundabout to the A14. Estimated cost £65 million.
