Thursday night was fun to say the least. I keep giggling thinking about our conversations. Amazingly we got some things sorted out as well.

UPCOMING

    • Possibly soon! -- A 6-week (I think) course on baby signing. Megan is going to find out more and if the MOB has enough funds to cover this amazing teacher, then all will be able to attend.

    • August 25 or 26 -- Community build day! Come join the community to rebuild the Community Park Playground!

    • Sunday, Sept 9th -- MOB Family Picnic. This year we will try out this popular and fun event at BES. Family picnic in the park. We will have potluck and fun games for the kids like three-legged-races and egg walks. Stay tuned for time.

    • Sunday, Sept 30th -- Woman's and kids clothing and gear swap – Start saving your items. Everything will sell for $1 per item as a donation to the MOB and a way to get some really inexpensive new stuff. This will likely be held in the Community Park Gazebo 1-4pm. Hopefully we'll have MOB gear from http://www.cafepress.com/mobrisbane for sale that day too. We hope to have non-profit donation slips for your taxes as well.

    • October -- Day in the Park. Cotton candy. Fun. Need I say more? We are still looking for a volunteer to coordinate this MOB fundraiser....super important so that we have money for speakers, Easter egg hunts, and other fun events. Volunteers speak up!

IN DISCUSSION

    • A Wednesday night soon! - Bingo night at the Community Center

    • Anti-bullying talk – Kids Power

    • Invite South San Francisco Scavenger to our membership meeting soon. What is recycle-able anyway?

    • Discussing the possibility of organizing a day to paint the teen center…maybe getting vending machines in there? Café tables in front? Have kids paint the garage squares? Stay tuned!

ONGOING

    • Every Friday, 10am-12pm -- Playgym continues -- Many thanks to Michelle Woodruff!!

    • Second Thursday of the month -- Membership gathering. Come meet other local moms at Bamboo Garden from 7-8:30. Come early, come late, just come!

    • Continue to support new moms through meals and MOB gift

    • Outreach to families with older kids and possible collaboration with BEST/PTO on events

    • Continue or expand charitable work. Because of the 49ers/Giants game, our last planned Food Bank outing was actually cancelled. Disappointing, but we will try to secure a new date for this very soon. Please let us know of other volunteering ideas where the little ones can also participate.

The survey for board and subcommittee meetings will distribute next month. We are a very lax bunch just looking to do great things for our kids, if you considered this for even a moment, call/email me or anyone else on the board and let us know which of the positions below we should put your name next to on the election survey….new moms, single moms, experienced moms, near-Brisbane-but-live-somewhere-else-moms, working moms, soon-to-be moms….All eligible!!!
