A new Memorial was established in 2024 to honor Dr. Elena Pederson. Elena was born in Slovakia in 1962. At 6 years old her family escaped to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Elena moved to Mossyrock in 1996, running a Chiropractic Health Center, she volunteered as an EMT and Firefighter and coached the high school cross country team. Elena lost her battle with cancer in October of 2023. Her husband, Mike, has generously established a $5,000. scholarship to be given in her name.
The first recipient of the $5,000. Elena Pederson Memorial is Marshall Brockway.
The Mossyrock Viking Scholarships are selected by a Committee of 3 people from the Community. The Selection committee interviews the applicants and determines the award given. Each year the selection committee is made up of new members. We strive to have a diverse committee representing various occupations, levels of education as well as diverse age groups.
Each year the Viking Scholarship Fund awards scholarship for all Mossyrock Graduates pursuing their Bachelor Degree.

The application for the Undergraduate Scholarship is posted on the Undergrad Page. Completed applications MUST BE POSTMARKED by the posted date. Late or Incomplete applications will not be considered.
