A new Memorial was established in 2024 to honor Dr. Elena Pederson. Elena was born in Slovakia in 1962. At 6 years old her family escaped to Regina, Saskathewan, Canada. Elena moved to Mossyrock in 1996, running a Chiropractic Health Center, volunteered as an EMT and Firefighter and coached the high school cross country team. Elena lost her battle with cancer in October of 2023. Her husband, Mike, has generously established a $5,000. scholarship to be given in her name.
These generous scholarships were provided by the following families and organizations:

Golden Grad, Class of '73 - $1,200.
Bill Nelson Memorial - $1,000.
Lewis County A.B.A.T.E. - $1,000.
Dennis Overbay Memorial - $500.
Dluhosh Memorial - $600.
Williams Memorial - $300.
Hegg Memorial - $300.
