Introduction of the Chief Executive Director
Introduction of Rev. Lam Kan Chor
Rev. Lam was equipped in China Bible Seminary and received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Hong Kong Bible Seminary in 1985. He had further study in Prairie Graduate School for his Master of Missiology degree in Alberta, Canada and Western Seminary for his M. Div. Program in Oregon, USA. He was awarded Doctor of Ministry degree(major in mission) by Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, USA. His dissertation for the Doctor degree is about the Strategies of Mission Ministry of a church under the Great Commission.
Rev. Lam and his wife once went to the mountainous areas of Golden Triangle (borders of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand)with scarce medical equipment and poor hygienic environment, cultivating large amount of opium, to serve the Chinese refugees, primitive ethnic minorities and Thais. Afterwards, he served in China Evangelistic Mission in America to promote mission ministry and wrote columns for mission and was also appointed to plant church for Vietnamese Chinese. Rev. Lam was often invited to lead many mission conferences at the Chinese churches around the world and published dozens of articles on mission in different Chinese mission journals. He authored "Missionary stories in Baan Tham" and "Second Journey in Baan Tham" and edited the mission book series such as "Chinese Mission can be come true – Thirteen Lessons for Chinese Churches Participating in Missions" and "Chinese Missionaries! Where are you?" His new work "Mission Tips" would soon be published. In addition, Rev. Lam spent 10 years (including part time) to pastor the overseas Chinese from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and American born Chinese in Mandarin, Cantonese and English in America. Rev. Lam and his wife, Sit Soo Fan, have given birth to three sons after marriage – the eldest son, Daniel, and the second son, David, were born in the mission field in north Thailand while Joseph is their youngest son.
Rev. Lam has been guest lecturer of mission courses in different Chinese seminaries and had been consultant of Chinese Christian Theological Seminary. Rev. Lam was formerly the Chief Executive Director of Christar Hong Kong and is now the Chief Executive Director of Morning Light Mission leading the Mission to reach out to the least reached people by the gospel, especially Muslims (including local and overseas).
