SUNDAY 21ST JULY is the date of our SUIT SHOOT
explaining this concept we refer back to the settlement days when folks came into the towns for church on Sundays and while they were still dressed in their "Sunday Best" they usually socialized with friends, family and neighbours.
Amongst the events were quoits or horseshoe throwing competitions, probably knife or axe throwing competitions and Shooting events.
Tall stories and cooking recipes were shared and lunch was a shared meal with everyone contributing.
Photographs from the era depict all types of persons lined up for the annual photo.
Our photo from last year is on the wall next to the historic one from an Australian book found in a library.
Just for fun, we held our inaugural Suit Shoot last year and we invite everyone to participate this year.
Open Black Powder Rifle events will be held and we will extend our invitation to other clubs - but you only get to shoot if you are in costume........Military or Civilian - No Suit No shoot!
amazing what clothing you can find in Op shops which are affordable and easily modified to suit the era.
Come and enjoy the social side of our club while still being competitive.
