See here for the results of the MPF Autumn 2016 16-sheet individual competitions. Best-in-Show was John Smith's "German North Atlantic Catapult Service 1929-1935" with 85 marks and a Gold award.

The MPF Autumn Convention 2016 was held at midday at Arden School, Station Road, Knowle, B93 0PT as part of the Solihull Philatelic Society Fair on Saturday October 29th 14th 2016, as was the MPF 16 sheet Individual Competitions (entry details in the September 2016 New Midlander, closing date for entries is 17th October 2016). On the 1st September 2016 Streetly Philatelic Society will change its name to Royal Sutton Coldfield Philatelic Society to better reflect the demography of its membership.

The 2016 ABPS AGM has been announced, to be held on Friday 22nd July 2016 at the Belfry Hotel, Cambridge, CB23 6BW starting at 12:15.

Please note that from the start of its next season in September 2016, the Rugby & District Philatelic Society will now meet at the Overslade Community Centre, Buchanan Road, Rugby, CV22 6AZ. The new venue has plenty of on-site and on-street parking, larger rooms, and everything is on the ground floor.

The MPF Spring Convention 2016 and AGM was held at Worcester as part of Worpex on Saturday May 14th 2016, as was the MPF 9 sheet Inter Society Competitions - see the results here, Chris Jackson winning Best-in-Show with his entry on Malvern Undated Circles gaining 91 points. Bryan Jones after many years of service to the MPF and Midlands Philately stepped down from his position as Chair whilst remaining on the Committee as a member without portfolio, with Ken Flint taking over as Chair and Colin Searle taking over Ken's role as President. The 2016 Philatelic Congress of Great Britain will be held from 21st to 24th July at the Belfry Hotel, Cambourne, Cambridgeshire CB23 6BW. Congress will be hosted by the Cambridge Philatelic Society and the theme will be ISLANDS. An exciting programme is being arranged.
