The Royal Philatelic Society London is the oldest surviving philatelic society in the world and will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2019. To mark the occasion it is organising a display of up to 250 frames on the theme of ‘King George V’. As Duke of York and then Prince of Wales, King George V was President of the Society from 1896-1910.
As usual Spring Stampex will also be a full National exhibition and all exhibitors from the UK and abroad are welcome to apply. The exhibition rules and details on how to apply are available at http://www.abps.org.uk/
The deadline for applications is: 14 December 2018.
Northern National 2019 12-13 April 2019
Dewar’s Centre, Perth
A full national exhibition will be held in Perth to coincide with the Scottish Congress. This will be the first time that a National has been held in Scotland since 2012, and we expect to have at least 120 frames. Exhibits can be entered in all classes recognised by the ABPS and all exhibitors from the UK and abroad are welcome to apply.
Results from Perth will now qualify for applications to London 2020.

Autumn Stampex 2019 11-14 September 2019

We are delighted to say that the National Philatelic Society, which has made a major contribution to exhibiting in the UK by sponsoring our new medals, has kindly agreed to take the lead in the exhibition at Autumn Stampex in 2019. The exhibition will also include exhibits from a number of contributors on aspects of the Indian Sub-Continent.
As usual, Autumn Stampex will also be a full National Exhibition, open to applications from all exhibitors both in the UK and abroad.
Details on the rules and application procedure will be posted early in 2019.
2020
As notified in the last Newsletter the Philatelic Traders Society have decided for financial reasons not to hold a Stampex in February 2020.
Autumn Stampex will take place as usual in September 2020, and the British Thematic Association has kindly offered to be the lead society. Look out for further details.

Stockholmia is an international exhibition being held to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Royal Philatelic Society London. It has ABPS recognition. Applications have now closed.

Wuhan City, Hubei Province, PRC
A General World Stamp Exhibition will be held in Wuhan with FIP patronage to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China as well as to promote friendship and cooperation among philatelists around the world. The competitive exhibition classes will be Traditional, Postal History, Postal Stationery, Aerophilately, Astrophilately, Thematic Philately, Maximaphily, Revenue, Modern Philately, Open Philately, Picture Postcards, Youth Philately, One-Frame exhibits and Philatelic Literature.
A UK Commissioner will be nominated shortly and applications will need to be submitted by early February 2019.

ITALIA 2018 23-25 November 2018 Verona
STILL OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS – TILL 10 SEPTEMBER
This will be an Italian National Exhibition but international participation has been invited in two areas.
Literature. Open to any work of philatelic literature including books, catalogues, magazines, journals, websites, software, audio-visuals. Only one copy of each entry will need to be supplied.
History of the Great War An on-line exhibition open to exhibitors around the world. The exhibition will include the following classes - traditional philately, thematic, postal stationery, maximaphily, postal history – and exhibits are invited that are between 5 and 10 frames, each of 12 sheets.
There is no UK Commissioner. Applications can be made directly to the Organisers through the exhibition website. All judging will be done electronically. Regulations and electronic application forms for each section of the exhibition are available at www.italia2018.eu
THAILAND 2018 28 November – 3 December 2018 Royal Paragon Hall, Bangkok

Management of Literature Entries: There have been problems in managing literature entry display at Stampex. This has been caused by exhibitors providing only single copies of their entry and confusion over arrangements.
Agreed that entries should include two copies, Spring Stampex should have entries available for inspection by the public on the Information Stand, Autumn Stampex should have entries available on the RPSL stand. If these are not on either stand for any reason, they must be available in the Jury room.

The Philatelic Hub
Meetings have begun involving the PTS, BPMA (Philatelic Museum), the Trade (Spink and SG), ABPS, RPSL and Royal Mail. The objectives are to find common marketing ground, to promote philately, to promote the United Kingdom, and London as the home of philately, and to work together to develop these.

Frames are available for hire from ABPS at fixed costs including erection and dismantling (which can be subsidised by The RPSL Philatelic Fund on application). These are only available to affiliated members of ABPS.
