Run for Missions

Friends Women Strong! November 11, 2023

Another successful run!

For the last three years our FW team has enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship out on the road together. We walk or jog, some alone, in pairs or small groups, all while praying and supporting each other and having a lot of fun. Together we raise funds for mission fields that are underfunded; this year EFC Nepal will benefit.

And it is not just those who gather on the sand roads between Haviland and Wichita. FW ladies in Independence and Fowler held their own mini events to support Run for Missions in their own locations.

Donations are accepted thru the end of the year, and you can continue to contribute for EFC Nepal. Contributions can be made direct online, or mailed to the EFCMAYM office, earmarked for Run for Missions/Friends Women team.

Prayer Luncheon

This year’s luncheon was held in the Drury, where we all made our own taco salad. The food was absolutely delicious!

Our theme was from Luke 12:35 NIV, Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning. ESV puts it like this, Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning. Our speaker shared a time, when, culturally, she was NOT dressed for service/action, the awkwardness of that moment and how it has stayed with her all these years. She stressed the importance of us all being dressed and ready for whatever the Lord has for us in life. We loved hearing from her and so appreciate her willingness to share.

EFM provided new one-page prayer sheets. Each table spent time praying for designated workers – praying Luke 12:35 over them.

Thank you to all who helped with this luncheon!
