Prayer Luncheon

This year’s luncheon was held in the Drury, where we all made our own taco salad. The food was absolutely delicious!

Our theme was from Luke 12:35 NIV, Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning. ESV puts it like this, Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning. Our speaker shared a time, when, culturally, she was NOT dressed for service/action, the awkwardness of that moment and how it has stayed with her all these years. She stressed the importance of us all being dressed and ready for whatever the Lord has for us in life. We loved hearing from her and so appreciate her willingness to share.

EFM provided new one-page prayer sheets. Each table spent time praying for designated workers – praying Luke 12:35 over them.

Thank you to all who helped with this luncheon!

Run for Missions

We would love to have you join our FW team on the road, probably somewhere between Kingman and Cunningham. But if you are unable to travel there, host your own mini event where you are!

The FW team had a wonderful time of fellowship on the road last year. We walked or jogged, some alone, in pairs or small groups, all while praying and supporting each other and having a lot of fun. Together we raised $5,200, a significant contribution to the $15,000 goal for the work in Ireland!

But did you know there were others, in different places, walking and running alongside us? David Howell ran his 10 miles on the 'other side of the pond' in

Ireland. And a group of our FW did their own mini event in their own neighborhood, walking laps and raising money for Missions. Betty Jean Penrose, Renita Butler, and Joan Lemon hosted their own event the same day, walking the full 10 miles, and raising funds.

This year Independence Friends Church is hosting the Tri State women at Riverside Park in Independence. We'll all run (or walk!) with perseverance, and you are all our cloud of witnesses, who will help us run the good race and keep the faith (Hebrews 12:1; 2 Timothy 4:7)!

Some can run, some can walk, but every one of us can join in by praying and supporting! This year we are raising funds for D.K. and Choity Sarkar's work in the West Bengal area of India, a field that is currently underfunded, and they need a new vehicle.Talk with your FW groups, involve your Youth groups, dust off your sneakers, get creative, see what

you can do.
