Featured speaker will be Cindy Aufrance. Cindy served as a missionary in Hong Kong, along with her husband Dave, for 45 yrs. Together they helped in the start-up of two high schools and a seminary and were in field leadership for about 20 years. Cindy is an approved facilitator for the Elijah House School of Prayer Ministry and co-founded a holistic counseling center (Hub and Spokes International) where she served as a prayer minister for 9 years.
Worship leader will be Stacey Wheeler, currently the Director of Communications and Church Planting Support and especially enjoys overseeing worship, the Yearly Meeting newsletter, and Coffee Hangout, an online Bible study group she started for EFC-MAYM pastors’ wives.
At our evening banquet, we will be entertained by comedian Connie Hall. Connie has called Topeka, KS home for almost 27 years. She and husband Jeff have been married for 32 years and have raised three children. Connie has a teaching degree from K-State, but her primary role has been stay-at-home mom. Connie found lots off opportunity to serve as Cub Scout leader, soccer coach, room parent, women’s ministry leader and others, but her longest-running ‘gig’ was 21 years as a substitute teacher.
The year after her “baby” left the nest in 2015, Connie performed her first official stand-up comedy routine. Ten years later, she’s still going strong. Connie is a gifted storyteller who draws from her humorous perspective on everyday observations and experiences as a wife in an “opposites attract” marriage. Connie enjoys connecting with women by leading Bible studies and she is a rabid Chiefs fan. But her current delight is found in holding her grandbabies and being called “Grammie.” She counts herself blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see where God takes her as the journey continues.

Prayer luncheon on July 26 was a great gathering of Friends Women who placed others before them in prayer. Many were uplifted and encouraged, along with a strengthening bond between those who participated.
Friends Women Strong!
Follow-up
Friends Women had a small but mighty team to run our 10 miles. It seems the only rain we get is during the week before the run, but we will not complain! Caty Zortman of Fowler was there supporting her children who were running and jumped in to help our FWF team. We would love for you and/or a group from your fellowship to join with us next year. What a blessing to support our workers in this fun way. A special thanks to all who open their bank accounts and gave. As a whole, Run for Missions raised over $9600 to support the Girons!
