Jubilee: Return | Redeem | Restore (Leviticus 25:10)
Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center - Independence, MO (September 20-22, 2019)
The Northeast Area ladies are busy planning a wonderful retreat for you in 2019! They decided early on to celebrate the history of our retreats, with 2019 being the 50th retreat since beginning at Camp Quaker Haven in 1970. This year's theme is based on the 25th chapter of Leviticus, where it lays out the law for observing the years of Sabbath and Jubilee. What a timely lesson to be learned!
Canaan was a holy land to the Israelites, and to God; it was His treasure and delight. The Israelites were instructed on how to reserve the year of Sabbath, when God expected extraordinary faith and obedience from His people, and in return they would receive extraordinary blessings and provision from God. Setting aside time for God ... what a concept!
Every seventh year was designated a year of Sabbath, and every seventh Sabbath year was designated as the year of Jubilee, to be proclaimed by trumpets throughout the land!
After the end of harvest in the seventh year, people were to “rest the land”, as a kindness to the land, to preserve God’s creation; and His people were charged with spending their time in devotion, in resting upon God's promise, and restoration and atonement to their family and neighbors. This was especially important in the year of Jubilee. What a charge and challenge to put on ourselves at Retreat!
Jubilee ~ Return, Redeem, Restore
is specifically taken from verse 10, “Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you...”
Come celebrate with us in our Friends Women Retreat Jubilee year! Bring memories from past retreats! We'll share and receive extraordinary blessings, spend time in devotion in a beautiful retreat setting, and rest on God's promises for renewal and restoration.
Join us on September 20-22, 2019 in Independence, Missouri! Hope to see thee there!
