Jerry D. Dugan, age 53, of Manhattan, died August 18, 2014, at his residence.He was born January 31, 1961, in Manhattan, the son of Franklin M. and Maria H.A. (Nieman) Dugan. Jerry graduated from Manhattan High School and had been a lifetime resident.Jerry worked as a fireman for Manhattan Fire Department, as facilities manager for the Vanier Football Complex and drove the equipment semi for away games and worked security at home football games. He was currently working as a facilities specialist for Housing and Dining at Kansas State University. Jerry was a volunteer fireman for the Blue Township Rural Fire Department in Pottawatomie County and later District # 1 in Riley County. Jerry was an avid Kansas State Football fan, enjoyed watching Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on TV and fishing and hunting. He also coached Kaleb’s teams, and earned his advanced SCUBA Diver certification. The time he enjoyed the most was the time with his family and especially his grandchildren.On July 16, 1983, in Manhattan, he married Debbie L. Guy. Debbie survives of the home. Additional survivors include two children: Hillary Finney and her husband Jeremy of Anna, TX, and Kaleb Dugan of Manhattan; one sister, Jane Dugan Samarrai and her husband Charlie of Manhattan; and three grandchildren: Cooper and Aubree Finney and Kristian Dugan.
