June 5th Follow-Up Meeting

Here are notes and action items from our meeting May 30, 2014

Notes:

  1. First, regarding the requirements put forth by Johnathan in his email on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 5:28 PM , I stated that our company is able to produce the required reports as part of the Dashboard product; our standing of the requirements is as follows:

    1. Related to difference between 2014 and prior year assessments (in 2014 the old separate Reading and Writing will go away); basically we need to track in a single indicator performance of English 1 and 2 from the 2014 assessment combined with performance on Reading and Writing from prior years (2012 and 2013); this single indicator can then be drilled into to show the separate performance results for each of the above components, in each of the years down to the individual student level.

    2. Need a way to combine results of certain courses based on grade level to identify students that “met requirements for the grade level”. For instance, 9th graders would need to pass Algebra 1 and English 1 to be considered as met EOC requirements; 10th graders would need have passed Algebra 1, English 1 and 2 to be designated the same. So this designation of met requirement need to be defined at the grade level.

    1. We discussed the need of sourcing SIS data to provide master reference needed by the Dashboard to produce Jonathan’s immediate requirements and others as determined later. I had provided the templates for files needed from the ECISD SIS in my email on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 12:57 PM; Miguel confirmed receipt of the file template document.

    2. We discussed the need to establish a formal agreement between our company and ECISD for a 90 day free trial of the Dashboard product, including Jonathan’s requirements above.

Action Items:

    1. Miguel to review file template document and data pull with district and region staff.

    2. Traci to work with Miguel on establishing agreement form.

    3. Jamal to setup meeting for Thursday June 5 at 2:30 pm to check progress of action items above as well as any follow up questions regarding requirements above.

    4. Jamal to check on Secure FTP mechanism to receive ECISD SIS data
