Mission and Vision
The lab visions is to create future leaders in science and technology who will not only solve problem faced by society and industry but also inspire future generations to pursue science and technology for the betterment of mankind. The mission of lab is 1) Develop affordable medical devices to cater the need of healthcare sector 2) Bridge the gap between science and technology for knowledge generation and dissemination and 3) Create highly skilled and inspired leaders in science and technology
Area of Research
Our lab works in the area of design and development of materials and devices inspired from nature to solve biomedical and life science applications.
Design and development of micro devices - We are interested in developing affordable microsampling device, bio-separation(gas/solute separation) device, biosensors, organ-on-chip models (tumoroid models) and lab-on-chip diagnostic devices using the principles of microfluidics, lab-on-chip, bio mimicry and biomaterials.
Development of polymer materials for biomedical applications - We explore materials like fibers, particles and nanostructures (multi-scale patterns) to create scaffolds/devices that can facilitate near native expression of mammalian cells on organ-on-a -chip devices, wound healing/management strategies
