Now that all of you can google you will have access to a lot of information about aircraft on the web. It is often difficult to track down the exact information, even from the company web site. A lot of information is proprietary too.
There is a wonderful reference that will give you a lot of information. It is the "Jane's All The World Aircraft". The library subscribes to one every two years. I will bring an example to class.
The text book should work out well as it also has a lot of MATLAB code. Between me and the book you should be able to implement all your calculations in MATLAB.
Other books are:
Introduction to Flight, John Anderson
An Introduction to Aircraft Performance, Mario Asselin
Introduction to Aircraft Performance, Selection, and Design, Francis Hale
Fundamentals of Flight, Richard Shevell
AIAA aerospace design engineers guide - Use rit library to access it through Knovel (free) - requires username/password
My performance calculations are based on Embraer 120. The scanned information from Jane's All The World Aircraft is included below.
I apologize for the quality. It appears you will have to download them and rotate them. This is to show that a lot f information is available in public domain.
For our calculations we only need a small subset of information and you can find them here.
