Using Scoutbook

The pack is currently using an online achievement and awards tracking system called Scoutbook. The application was first introduced a few years ago, and was purchased outright by the Boy Scouts of America in April 2015. So it's essentially the "official" BSA system for tracking your Scout's progress. The system is free to use for anyone in the Pack.

Scoutbook provides more than just an easy way to record achievements. It also includes a calendars for the Pack and each Den, can be used to send announcements, track training, log hiking, camping, and service projects, and even includes private discussion forums for the Pack.

The system is web-based, and should work on most modern browsers and mobile devices.

Signing Up

If you're not already using Scoutbook, don't worry -- we'll add your Scout to the system and connect him with the pack! If he's already in the system, let us know and we'll work out getting him added to our account (no need to start over...)

First, contact your Den Leader, the Cubmaster, or Committee Chair, and let them know that we need to get you set up with Scoutbook. We'll need:

  • Your name
  • The email address you want to use for your account
  • Your scout's name and den
  • Your relationship to the scout

We'll then create an account for you on Scoutbook, and you'll receive an invitation code in email. The invitation email will include a temporary password.

  • Go to the Scoutbook.com website and click on "Login"
  • Enter the email address you signed up with, and the password from the invitation
  • Click on "My Dashboard" and then "My Account" to access your account and profile
  • Fill out as much or as little as you like, but be sure to change your password!
  • If you already have a BSA member ID, fill that in as well (under Profile), so the system can automatically import Training and other records

And now you're set up!
