(Dis)similarity wizard

This wizard is based on Tables 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5 of Legendre and Legendre (1998). It is not exhaustive with respect to the range of (dis)similarity measures available, but will attempt to direct you to an initial solution. Consult Legendre and Legendre (1998) or other references listed throughout this wizard for a more thorough treatment.

The coefficients suggested are usually similarity coefficients (S). Their one-complement (1-S) is their corresponding dissimilarity or, in the case of metric coefficients, distance coefficient. The "Sn" notation was adopted by Legendre and Legendre (1998) and is used in this wizard to assist cross-referencing in cases where (dis)similarity measures have no specific name.
