My approach to counseling is grounded in the value of respect for the inherent dignity and worth of all persons. The goal of the helping process is to increase awareness and understanding and enhance capacity to change. Clinical work is more than “treating symptoms.” Instead of focusing on problems, I work collaboratively with clients to discover their potential and deal with what gets in the way of them reaching it. My work with clients is holistic, meaning that I pay attention to all aspects of the human experience and what’s important to people including their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well being. I take a strengths-based, person-centered, solution-focused approach to my work with clients.
