Languages
Language is a important part of my travel, I guess.
I speak English so I can talk more with other backpackers, travelers even with local people even if they don't speak English that much!!
And, I speak Spanish so I can talk and understand more with local people in Latin America.
So, here's the basics about those languages I speak.
Japanese
- Native
Because I'm Japanese!!
English
- Well, I think I'm fluent enough. Studied at Kanda Institute of Foreign Languages(KIFL). Never saw any Japanese who speaks English after English education in normal school in Japan.
I know I have Japanese accent. So, sometime I have been asked to say it again. But after I started my travel, I have 0 intention to improve it anymore. Every country has their accent and it's their character, I think. Now, not all the time, but sometime, I can see where they are come from according to their accent. I don't like American English. Others are easier for me.
Spanish
- Not fluent, but intermediate. Studied at Spanish school called Centro Linguistico Maya(CLM) in Antigua, Guatemala.
Cannot understand everything, especially when locals are saying something funny, jokes, but understand fairy well.
Except those, I'm sure I will study Portuguese. It won't change without special reason to change it.
And, have some other languages I wanna study. Check below, if you're interested.
Languages I have a plan to study
Portuguese
French(Depends where I go on my travel)
Languages I wanna study
Arabic
Russian
Chinese
Hindi
If I would speak all of them, that would be really useful in many places. Only if I can..
