Why blogging?
Science can be entertaining. Isn't that reason enough?
As a scientist who gets paid by taxes, beside my fundamental tasks in teaching and research, I also devote some time to blogging.
It is, for example, important that migraineurs recognize and understand their neurological symptoms during migraine. From my research, I provide various materials and information to the public.
Let me give you a simple example. Did you know that it is dangerous to drive while you have a migraine? Consider the spatial arrangement of positive (red) and negative (blue) symptoms in a visual migraine aura. Look at the following illustration.
If you want to read one, please visit my blog Gray Matters (about the above topic: "Migraine attack? Don’t drive!"). My blog is found on SciLogs.com, a new English language blogging network, hosted alongside the popular German language blogging network, Scilogs.de, which also has Spanish and Dutch versions. It is hosted by Spektrum der Wissenschaft (the German edition of Scientific American), a member of the Nature Publishing Group (NPG) family.
I write a science blog in German, Graue Substanz, also on the SciLogs network.
