Note by Andy Lamas: The two images on this page were taken in my Urban Studies classroom at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA, in Spring 2010. The clay sculpture pieces were made by a group of amazing and unforgettable students during the first class meeting of the term in mid-January. In preparation for this in-class project, the students read -- during Winter Break -- the following two short books:
