In memory of Peter Marcuse, the International Herbert Marcuse Society has designed two kinds of awards in support of students and young scholars contributing to critical urban studies, development and social planning, alternative economy, and related subjects in ways that advance critical theory in the struggle for liberation.
Peter Marcuse Research Fellowship in Critical Urban Theory, Policy, and Planning is awarded occasionally by the International Herbert Marcuse Society in support of students and young scholars conducting research on critical urban studies, development and social planning, alternative economy, or related subjects.
Peter Marcuse Prize in Critical Urban Theory, Policy, and Planning is awarded occasionally by the International Herbert Marcuse Society, for an outstanding work (e.g., recently published book, article, essay) in critical urban studies, development and social planning, alternative economy, or related subjects.
