All tournaments will be in-person unless stated otherwise. Until the invitations are posted, all dates are tentative.
More tournaments will be added as we hear about them.
Schools can also take part in smaller (3 school) tournaments in the MSDA Debate League. These do not appear in this schedule. Please follow this link for more information.
Styles of Debate tournaments:
British Parliamentary Debating Style (BP), i.e. 2 two-person teams on each side
World School style with 3 person teams.
All other tournaments are Manitoban parliamentary style, i.e. 1 two-person team on each side.

Junior Events (Grade 9 and under) are in red
Senior Events (Grades 10-12) are in blue
National Events are in black

Sunday, October 4- Junior & Senior Provincial British Parliamentary Debate Qualifier (Junior Grades 8 & 9) and (Senior Grades 10-12) at St. John's-Ravensourt School (Qualifier for the 2025 Canadian British Parliamentary Debate Nationals (Hosted in B.C. in November)
October 15 - 18 International Independent Schools Public Speaking Competition at MacLachlan College in Oakville, ON (ISPSL League Members Only)
Thursday, October 22 - Jr. Impromptu Debate Tournament at Dasmesh School Winnipeg
November (TBA) Canadian British Parliamentary Debate Nationals (Junior & Senior) in (In B.C.) (Manitobans qualify through the Provincial BP tournaments at St. John's-Ravencourt School on October 4)
Tuesday, November 17 - Maples Collegiate Prepared Debate Tournament (Grades 9-12) Debate Tournament
Sunday, November 29 - Rupert's Land Debate & Public Speaking Tournament at Balmoral Hall - qualifier for the National Public Speaking Championships in (Feb 6-8 at St. John's-Ravenscourt)
Tuesday, December 8 - Jr Impromptu Debate Tournament at St. Paul's High School
Tuesday, January 19 - Sr Douglas Campbell Public Speaking at St. Maurice School
February 6-8 - Sr National Public Speaking Championships at St. John's-Ravenscourt School (Manitobans qualify through Rupert's Land)
Sunday, February 21 - Jr Douglas Campbell Provincial Public Speaking Tournament at Dasmesh School, Qualifier for Jr High Speech Nationals (May 28-30 in Vancouver)
Sunday, March 7 - Jr Provincial Debating Championships at Balmoral Hall
Sunday, March 14 - Sr. Provincial Debating Championships at Gray Academy
April 1-10, World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships - Shanghai (Manitobans qualify through Sr. National Public Speaking Championships Feb. 6-8 or IISPSC Oct 15-18)
Thursday, April 15 - 26th Annual Angus Reid Cross-Examination Debate Tournament at St. Paul's High-School
TBA April - St. Mary's Academy Marian Cup Tournament
TBA - French Debate Nationals
May 14-16 - Junior High Speech Nationals in Vancouver (Manitobans qualify through the Junior Douglas Campbell Tournament on February 21)
