Many people enjoy reading books. Some of them read books to relax and to kill boredom. Others broaden their horizons, enrich their language and improve their imagination. In fact, books are sources of knowledge. However, is there any alternative which could displace a traditional book?
There are many discussions on the Internet on this topic. Some people say that the book will never die, arguing that traditional books give special feelings. Moreover, they believe that books have an unique smell. However, no one goes to the library to sniff books and to touch them. You can purchase glue and a carton instead.
We are living in a century of technological progress. Everything is changing very fast. Not only things, but also meanings of words are changing. Do you remember a tablet with a stylus? It is not a kind of Samsung Galaxy Note! I mean clay tablets, which were used throughout the Bronze Age and well into the Iron Age.
You can still enjoy the smell of traditional books. But a new generation will eagerly consume information from other sources, especially if these sources help to assimilate information quickly. Traditional books use footnotes and citations only. In addition to this, modern digital books could use hyperlinks and automatic translation from a different languages. And what will we get after?
In conclusion, I want to say that book will live long, like the papyrus in the national museum. I prefer not to use paper books or e-books with e-inks. I like reading books on my smartphone with a big screen.
