2025 - New Official Classes for Adults that want to Officiate Girls' Lacrosse

One of the most common things we hear from people we talk to about officiating girls' lacrosse is, "I don't know anything about girls' lacrosse". Guess what? Most of us didn't know the first thing about the sport when we started.

• We will teach you the rules.

• We will help provide you with an official's jersey, cards, whistle, a yellow penalty flag, a 2025 USAL/NFHS Rule Book, a copy of the 2025 USAL Official's Manual, and game card.

• We will train and mentor you before and during the season.

If you officiate girls' lacrosse, you will:

• Have the opportunity to work as many days during the week as you would like.

• Have the opportunity to "move up" quickly.

• Get paid pretty well to stay in shape. 

Information for the 2025 Season

The information on this web page is for adults, 18 and older, that are interested in officiating girls' lacrosse in Maine beginning in the 2025 season.  If you are a teen/player, please go to the following link: Junior Official Training

All prospective officials are required to attend a series of three classes that are taught by US Lacrosse trained and certified officials.  New official classes will be held via Zoom and will be accessible multiple times during the first three weeks of March, 2025. All classes will be recorded and available to you via a link on this website.

 Classes are also an excellent refresher for returning officials. 

• The cost of the course for new officials is $25 and will be payable by check or secure online payment.  

• We encourage all new officials to join USA Lacrosse as soon as possible in order to receive a 2025 Rules Book before the season begins. 

  •  All officials MUST be members of USA Lacrosse before officiating a game as membership provides all officials with liability insurance.

    • The annual membership dues to USA Lacrosse are $60.

• ALL new officials will receive a set of penalty cards, a Fox-40 whistle, yellow penalty flag, a 2025 USAL/NFHS Rule Book, a copy of the 2025 USAL Training Manual, and a game card.

  • The cost of an official's jersey will be reimbursed upon proof of purchase and proof of USA Lacrosse membership.
