MSA provides financial aid for member families and teachers.

An ad hoc committee of board members will be formed whenever applications for financial aid are submitted. They will make recommendations to be approved by the board.
Teacher Aid
MSA teacher members can apply for up to $200 in financial aid.
Must be used for ISA- or SAA-sanctioned training.
No financial records of the requester are needed.
No limit on how frequently they can apply.
Family/Student Aid
Only MSA member families can request aid.
Aid can be used for MSA events (not for NESI, as they have their own financial aid program).
Family submits IRS Form 1040 (not all attachments or other forms) for previous year.
Aid can be used for private lessons with an MSA member teacher.
Family submits IRS Form 1040 (not all attachments or other forms) for previous year.
Teacher recommendation letter required.
Students must be enrolled in a private studio, not at a school or other organization where the MSA teacher is employed.
No financial formula will be used to determine eligibility or amount of aid.
Payment goes to the teacher.
Aid can be used for tuition for youth orchestras if scholarships are unavailable from the orchestra they play in.
Family submits IRS Form 1040 (not all attachments or other forms) for previous year.
Payment goes to the orchestra organization.
Aid can be used for instrument rental.
Family submits IRS Form 1040 (not all attachments or other forms) for previous year.
Family submits receipt of payment for reimbursement.
