Sometime in 1990 I was inspired to write a song about the issue of abortion called "Let the Children Live". I am pro-life and began to be convinced that simply just praying, hoping, and being concerned wasn't enough to help stop the slaughter of millions of innocent unborn human lives. That's how this song came to be, and it started simply with the first line question:
HOW MANY MORE WILL DIE?
I just kept that question with the simply melody going over the two chords back and forth until the rest of the song emerged. Today, it is many years later and I have remixed the song and merged it with a video for YouTube and hope it reaches even more.
However that haunting question remains, "How many more will die?" I did some basic research into the amount of abortions per year since 1990 when the song was written, and I was quite stunned. It is difficult to settle on one fixed number due to the various reporting, however an approximate number would be about 25 to 30 million human lives were extinguished from the time I wrote this songs to today (2019) and continues counting.
That is very difficult, and too disturbing to really grasp and all I can do is plead for God's grace and mercy and ask you to do the same.
I freely submit this song to anyone who wants to use it for recording, or special performance, or in any presentation if it would help further the cause of saving innocent human lives.
Now after nearly thirty years I still ask, "How many more will die?" John Boda
