The Feasts of Israel

John Boda has been a student and researcher of this topic for over 40 years, participated in some of them with a Messianic Church, and visited Israel during the observation of the fall feasts. He has done teaching on these many times and first learned about them under his mentor - Dr. Hart Armstrong. 

Posted here are his slide notes to a recent teaching and a new remix of an older song of a summary of the entire topic entitled; GOD'S LONGEST SUMMER with lyrics - Be blessed. 

God's Feasts commanded to Israel (Lev 23) were special appointments and multi-faceted. While they related to the present harvest, and reminded them of God's works delivering them, they also were shadows and types of the prophetic work of Christ.

Christ was really the "ANTI-TYPE" of all of them as they all pointed to him as the substance and complete fulfilment. The first four have already been fulfilled, and EXACTLY on the feast day!

We are now living in GOD'S LONGEST SUMMER and awaiting the next feast which is "The Feast of Trumpets" and that will be fulfilled by Christ again as THE RAPTURE.

We don't know what year, but it is getting very close. I anticipate the question:

So do you think the rapture will happen on The feast of Trumpets? Well, if God is consistent (And when has he never been?) then the answer is YES.

But then the next question comes, "But what about No man knows the day or hour"? Good question! But many scholars believe that (From Matthew 24) is speaking of the SECOND COMING and not the rapture. Others who believe it is, say "No man knows the day or hour" is another phrase speaking of The Feast of Trumpets" because it isn determined by a small cresent moon which is difficult to see and we don't know exactly the day it falls on, and a second day was added to make it a two day feast years ago so it would not be missed. Either way, we may simply have it wrong, and God can do whatever he wants. Yes, he may come any day of the year, but if the the first four are any indication, HE WILL BE CONSISTENT AND FULFILL THE NEXT ONE ON THE VERY DAY AND TIME.

Recall that God told Abraham details of the coming destruction of Sodom, and he sent angels to grab Lot and his family to remove them just before. God told Noah when he would flood the earth by his grandfather's name - METHUSELAH - which means "When he dies it will come" and the flood came the very year, possibly the day he died. If people were paying attention and knew the prophecy of Daniel (some did) they could have computed the EXACT DAY Jesus would ride his donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, and furthermore, they would know he would be crucified as the Lamb of God on the exact PREPERATION DAY before the Passover at the exact time "Between the evenings" . 

S0, once again, God is always on time and very precise! I am not 100% convinced Jesus will return on The Feast of Trumpets, but maybe 99% and we'll see what happens. 

Regardless, we all should be ready and waiting! Jesus warned us THREE TIMES in Matthew 24 about being decieved and how that would factor in to these last days, we should take heed. He is coming soon - be ready and be blessed.
