URWERK UR-111C, stainless steel case, diameter 42 x 46 mm, anodized aluminum roller, lithographic electroformed nickel second wheel, time-hopping, round-trip straight minute, digital minute, digital second, automatic winding movement, Power reserve for 48 hours, sapphire crystal glass mirror, limited to 25 http://www.copywatchonline.co/.
URWERK has applied a straight minute display on the CC1 King Cobra watch, but Martin Frei presented another challenge to engineers when designing the UR-111C. He wants another visual effect, the linear minute scale is also longer, so he decides to diagonally align the scale in the window instead of horizontally with the drum; as the minute scale is tilted, the drum is rotated every time. 300 degrees (that is, 1 hour passed), the fluorescent color mark will be moved to the 60-minute position, and the roller will tighten a long coil at the same time. When it reaches the 60-minute position, the spring ring will be released and the drum will be rotated 60 degrees. The fluorescent color mark returns to the starting point (0 minutes) position, and the hour number jumps one step forward.
Two lithography electroforming (LIGA) technology at the top of the case is used to install the second digits of the second wheel, one is 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60, and the other is 5, 15, 25, 35 45, 55, each second round weight 0.018 grams (even the number weighs 0.025 grams). It can be seen from the circular window that the seconds and numbers appear very close to the window when they appear in phase. It is exactly one millimeter above the number. A bundle of neatly arranged fiber-optic tubes creates this unique visual effect. This technique is also in the watchmaking world. First sight!
The construction of the case is very complicated, and the entire movement (including the display system, the transmission system and the refining system) must be embedded in the case from the side. This procedure is slow, because all the parts are very fine and the structure is quite fragile. The case is sandblasted, polished or satin-finished, and the finish is very beautiful. Even a screw head may be polished differently, giving the case a pleasing and harmonious gloss texture contrast.
