Special Rules and Guidelines
until Dec. 31, 2021 only
Because of the COVID19 pandemic and the ensuing quarantine, Libraries have been closed for face-to-face transactions. To help deliver services to our patrons, the University's faculty would be granted these privileges:
1. Faculty members may borrow as many printed books at a time as needed. Part-timers may borrow up to 10 books. Our instructors and professors would then be using these references in drafting their modules. The modules would include references and links for easy access to students. 1 month duration.
2. MOR Teachers may compile a list of manuscripts that their students may want to browse. The list shall be sent by the teacher to the librarian, who will upload PDF copies into a google drive folder for student browsing. Note: only 2018 and above thesis manuscripts might have PDF's.
- Students will search the manuscripts of LSPU at the OPAC
- MOR Teacher will compile the list with title/author/date indicated from the students
- MOR Teacher will send the list to the librarian (may use fb page of the particular campus library)
- Librarian will search for PDF's and make those available via google drive
- Link to the drive will be sent to the MOR teacher

BORROWING PRIVILEGES AND REGULATIONS
GENERAL COLLECTION
A. Students –
Los Baños Campus - Students may borrow 2 books at a time.
San Pablo Campus - Students may borrow 2 books at a time, Fiction for 1 week and Non-Fiction for 1 day.
Sta. Cruz Campus - Students may borrow 3 books at a time for 1 week.
Siniloan Campus - Students may borrow 2 books at a time for 1 week. Fiction may be borrowed for 2 weeks.
B. Faculty – The books must be related to the subject being taught; books for personal use or for use in courses enrolled in are subject to loan regulation as students.
Los Baños Campus - 3 books at a time for 1 week
San Pablo Campus - 5 books at a time for 1 month
Sta. Cruz Campus - 3 books at a time for 2 weeks
Siniloan Campus - 5 books at a time for 2 weeks
C. Alumni and Visiting Researchers – all collection are for inside/room use only.
RESERVE BOOKS
A. Students – inside library / room use only.
B. Faculty – the same as students. Some books can be borrowed overnight to be returned the following day not later than 9:00 a.m.
RECALLS
All materials are subject to recall at any time. Recalled materials should be returned at once.
INTERLIBRARY LOANS
The circulation or unit librarian shall assist in securing materials available in other libraries. Borrowers are subject to the restrictions and regulations of the lending library.
RETURNING MATERIALS
Materials should be returned to the library from which they were borrowed. Make sure that the return is properly recorded.
Faculty members should physically return all borrowed materials on the due date. Books still needed may be renewed at the time that they are returned.
Faculty members on leave should return all books so that these will be available to others.
FINES
1. General Collection – Two Pesos (Php 2.00) PER DAY
2. All fines shall be paid at the circulation counters.
3. The borrower is responsible for books he/she signs out. The library has no obligation to send overdue notices to students.
LOST BOOKS
1. Lost books must be reported at once. The fine on an overdue book shall stop at the time the book is reported lost. A replacement copy of the same title and edition is due for any lost books.
2. If a replacement copy is not available, assessment shall be made according to the current cost of the book that will be refunded.
3. Any book not returned at the end of the semester is considered lost.
MUTILATED / DAMAGED MATERIALS
Materials with missing or mutilated pages should be reported at once. Mutilated or damaged materials will cost the borrower a fee for certain missing pages, or the replacement value for those too damaged for repair.
CANCELLATION / SUSPENSION OF PRIVILEGES
1. Repeated overdue return of books may be a reason for the suspension of borrowing privileges for a certain period which will be determined by the circulation or unit librarian.
2. Loan privileges shall also be suspended for those with unreturned materials.
3. For alumni and visiting researchers, library use privileges will be cancelled if they did not follow the rules and regulations of the library.
4. The librarian shall confiscate material found in the possession of a person other than the borrower. Borrowing privileges will be suspended for both parties concerned, the period is to be determined by the Librarian.
5. The borrower’s card is non-transferable and violation means cancellation of all library privileges for both parties concerned.
6. Unauthorized withdrawal of library materials, mutilation and defacing, will mean loss of all library privileges and merit a recommendation for suspension.
LIBRARY CLEARANCE
At the end of each semester, library clearance should be secured from the library. Accountabilities must be settled at the agreed date. Graduating students must secure the initial of the Technical Research Librarian first before the signature of the College Librarian.

Please respect the needs of the other library users and help maintain a quiet and scholarly atmosphere in the library. We ask that you keep conversation at a minimum level and refrain from eating and smoking inside the library.

Inquires about such articles should be made at the service counters. Please be reminded that the library will not be held responsible for any losses.
