Repatriation of Marines' Remains May 2013 -- In 1999, more than 50 years later, remains of 19 Marines are returned to US soil because a Gilbert Island native, a teenager in 1942, remembered helping bury them. The only English he knew was the Marine Corps Hymn. (Thanks to Dan Hartwick)
Pakistan/India Border Crossing Ritual FEB 2013 -- Despite the narrator's snarky early comments about the participants' appearances, this is interesting to watch. Surely we should prefer this display, regularly, to having them lob their atomic bombs at each other. There would certainly be nothing funny about that. (Thanks to Dan Hartwick)

JEEP Reassembled During Parade! JAN 2013 -- This is one of the coolest things you'll ever see! Eight, C-Btry soldiers pull up on a main street in Toms River , NJ, for an undesignated holiday. They're in a standard issue WWII type Willys Jeep. In the span of about 5 to 6 minutes they completely disassemble the vehicle then reassemble it and drive off in it fully operable! The idea being to show the genius that went into the making of the jeep and its basic simplicity. Fantastic.(Thanks to Ed Kessler!)
A Horse Named "Restless" JAN 2013 -- Reckless was a pack horse during the Korean war, and she carried recoil-less rifles, ammunition and supplies to Marines. Nothing too unusual about that, lots of animals got pressed into doing pack chores in many wars. But this horse did something more…. during the battle for a location called Outpost Vegas, this mare made 50 trips up and down the hill, on the way up she carried ammunition, and on the way down she carried wounded soldiers… What was so amazing? Well she made every one of those trips through enemy fire and without anyone leading her. Here’s her story and photos to prove where she was and what she did! (Thanks to Dan Hartwick!)
Angel Flight JAN 2013 -- This video is about a song called "Angel Flight"... and it is very good! The song is being performed with "effects." Listen to the words of the pilot and the tower, and make sure you sit quietly and listen to the very end... You will understand why one of the singers said he would be glad to help with the song... if he could stop crying. This is beautiful. God bless our Veterans! (Thanks to Dan Hartwick!)

Amazing Video About 9/11 Boat Lift FEB 2012 -- The evacuation by boat of Manhattan after the 9-11 attack, which was bigger than that at Dunkirk in WW II. It is worth watching since it is about regular Americans rising to the occasion, calling upon their inner hero instincts, and doing the right thing! It is also amazing what just a little bit of leadership from a Coast Guard buoy tender CO did to help make it happen. Would that we had even that effort in the country's leadership from Washington today! I hope you enjoy it. (Thanks to Dick Martin!)

Two Pilots Look carefully at the B-17 and note how shot up it is - one engine dead, tail, horizontal stabilizer and nose shot up. It was ready to fall out of the sky. (This is a painting done by an artist from the description of both pilots many years later.) Then realize that there is a German ME-109 fighter flying next to it. Now read the story below. I think you'll be surprised..

After 60 years a P39 Aircobra is found intact! (Harrison Radiator in it!) It is about 4 minutes in length, but a story you will enjoy, especially if you are old enough to remember WW II.

Vietnam Virtual Wall Someone spent a lot of time on this and it is truly remarkable to all Vietnam Vets take a look. Someone sent me the link below which is a virtual wall of all those lost during the Viet Nam war with the names, bio's and other information on our lost comrades. It is a very interesting link, and those who served in that time frame and lost friends or family can look them up on this site. Pass it on to other veterans who you think would like this. First click on a state, then when it opens, a name, then it should show you a picture of the person or at least his bio and medals.
