Who is eligible to join the LOW Veterans Club?
Membership is open to Lake of the Woods residents who are veterans that have served HONORABLY in any branch of the United States military, National Guard, or Merchant Marine regardless of race, color, creed, gender, or ethnic background.
What would be expected of you to do?
Attend mostly once a month meetings on last Thursday of the month that include guest speakers include entertaining and informative presentations concerning veteran related topics. Voluntarily Participate in LOW Veteran patriotic events such as conducting Memorial Day Ceremony, Independence Day Parade participation, conducting Veterans Day Ceremony, and honoring all veterans at our December 7th Christmas Party.
The LOW Veterans Club performs “Final Salute” tribute to deceased LOW veterans at their respective funeral services. Volunteers to perform the ceremony are constantly in need.
In addition to the activities described above, the LOW Veterans Club presents a place for member comradery and also a place to promote patriotism and citizenship. Also, LOW Veteran Club field trips are available to various locations on a voluntary basis.
Are there any Dues?
Initial joining dues are $25 which includes LOW Veterans Club cap, individual nametag, and one year membership. Subsequent yearly dues are five dollars.
How do I join?
Any eligible veteran can download an application from the LOWVETS website (CLICK HERE) and mail with initial dues to club treasurer Gilbert Churchill at 110 Cumberland Cr., or call him at 540-972-7452 or Club President Dan Greene at 540-972-0153 to receive club application via email.

The purpose of this Club shall be to form a compatible group of individuals who have served or are serving their country in a military capacity in peace or war.
The Club’s mission shall be but not limited to the following:
to socially interact and promote fellowship of its members
to provide mutual assistance to its members
to promote patriotism and the principals and ideals of American citizenship to the youth and others of our community
to support and promote LOW’s celebration of Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veteran’s Day
to educate the general citizenry and to inform non-affiliated Vets of the benefits available to them
