Greetings! I am an associate professor in the Mathematics department at Indiana University and a research associate in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University.
During 2015-2018, I was a Van Vleck visiting assistant professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison, mentored by Sebastien Roch and Timo Seppäläinen. During 2014-2015, I received postdoctoral training at the Statistics and Operations Research department at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, mentored by Amarjit Budhiraja. In 2014, I earned my PhD at University of Washington-Seattle, supervised by Zhen-Qing Chen and Krzysztof Burdzy.
I was born in Hong Kong, where I obtained my MPhil degree in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology under the supervision of Shiu-Yuen Cheng, and also my Bsc degree in Chinese University of Hong Kong. I enjoy reading about natural sciences and reaching out to nature. I’m particularly interested in hiking, kayaking and figure skating. Here is my CV.

(May 9, 2024) Our paper ``Bursts of coalescence within population pedigrees whenever big families occur. " was selected as a Featured Article for the journal GENETICS.
(May 2, 2024) My student Dimitrios Diamantidis recieved the Best Thesis Award in Applied Mathematics at Indiana University. He will be joining ICERM as a postdoctoral scholar in academic year 2024-2025.
My student Max Newman is doing a summer intership at Fitila Technology, through the Internship Network in the Mathematical Sciences, to work on Generative AI Modeling.
