Your County Councillor

Seeing it’s Christmas time I will save the normal NCC roundup until the next edition and simply wish everyone the happiest Christmas and New Year (preferably one that isn’t so wet).

One quick thing - if you have a project which would benefit from a small financial contribution then I have some unspent money left in my councillor annual budget. I would be very pleased to help if I can do so - please email me.

Citizen’s Advice: Winter Fuel Bills

A record number of people came to Citizens Advice with energy debt in the first four months of 2023. If you’re struggling to afford your energy bills, you might be able to get support from the government or your energy supplier.

Belmont Planning Update

In March 2022 the owners of Belmont got approval for change of use of the shop part of the building into a single residential unit. Since then a lot of additional work has been carried out on the entire house, and the owners applied for retrospective planning permission for this work.

This planning permission has now been refused on conservation grounds, in particular the loss of shopfronts, choice of windows and removal of boundary walls.

The Flying Fryer will be here every Friday from 4pm to 7pm, depending on demand.

They will not be here for 3 weeks from 29th December, they will be back on 19th January 2024.

Mobile Library Visiting Times

The Mobile Library visits Longhorsley once a month, on Fridays between 3pm and 4pm, in the Village Hall car park.
