Notes:
(1) Base snowflake is a Phillips 24" twinkling Pure Whtie LED glitter string snowflake, sold at Target in 2014. 749271-101 Z2601-14.
(2) I cut off the power supply (24v 0.125 amp), and cut out as much of the 50 lights that come with it as I can. They are all covered in glitter and I get them the best I can.
The snowflake breaks into 2 segments by cutting zip ties where the arms meet the base (front and back)
(3) I cut a small hole at the base of arm 1 (opposite the hanging hook on arm 4)
(4) I use 50 pixels (WS2811 12v 12mm) per snowflake. Snowflakes have 6 arms. That means 8 pixels per arm with 2 left over, which I use to light the center. So on a strand of 50 I have the pixels arranged as:
[start] - 4 - 1 - 8 - 8 - 8 - 1 - 8 - 8 - 4 - [end]
I mark the string with painters tape so I know where each arm starts/stops.
(5) I tie pixel strings to metal rods (from a screen door) and then fish the rods from the center to the end of the arms. At the end of each arm secure the pixel string with a zip tie.
