(2) RCA Universal Remote (RCRP05BR)
JP1.3 class remote
(3) JPX Flash from TXSat Electronics using RM IR (RemoteMaster)
Used to connect from the remotes 6-pin JP1 interface via USB to the PC serially.
Software:
Steps:
* Install RemoteMaster (Requires Java). Note: RDF files now automatically installed.
* Connect universal remote to PC using "JPX Flash" cable. This is a 6-pin JP1 to USB. The first time you connect it will download a driver.
* Start RMIR software on computer.
* From the menu bar select "Remote" then "Download from Remote". Green light on JPX Flash cable will flash.
* Then from the menu bar do "File" then "Save As" to make a backup of your remote's original configuration.
* Repeat the above step and save a different image that you will use for your modified remote.
* Select the "Learned Signals" tab.
* Click on the "New" button.
* Next under "Bound Key" select the remote button you will use.
* Then copy/paste the desired "UEI" code from below into the "Signal Data" text box.
* Then click "Apply", then "Ok".
* Repeat for all the codes you want to include.
* When done do "File"->"Save".
* Now you can upload the new bindings to the remote by selecting "Remote" from the menu-bar and then "Upload to Remote".
==NOTE== On uploading you will often get an error. What is happening is it is getting the codes in the order you put them in, but not all of them.
* I tried over and over until I got most of the codes to load.
* You can test your remote while still connected to the computer.
