Symphony Orchestra Information

SYMPHONY STRINGS (1st period) The top performing curricular string ensemble within the Linn-Mar Orchestra Program. Membership to this ensemble is by audition only and meets each day from 8:30-9:15 a.m. This ensemble also participates with the wind and percussion students to form the Full-Symphony Orchestra throughout the year. The group has also participated in area contests, most notably placing “Best in Class-4A” at the Jefferson Orchestra Invitational in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. The ensemble also had the honor of being selected as the 2009 State Honor Orchestra and performed at the 2009 Iowa String Teacher Association’s (ISTA) annual conference.
