"I want to know everything about research and citation!"
"What happens in college?"
College libraries offer citation management software such as RefWorks and EndNote. This allows you to organize and retrieve citations for multiple and long-term projects. It also helps with in-text citations. High schools and many junior highs use EasyBib, which offers electronic notetaking and outlining as well. EasyBib has a mobile app that lets you scan your book for an instant citation. Nice.
