Spring 2011

Spring 2011 Plan (January 2011)

In Spring 2011 we will assess two courses. The assessment plans and reports for these two courses are here:

MAT175: Calculus I

MAT155: Calculus Laboratory I

Calculus I will be assessed directly using a uniform final exam to be designed by the Dr. Schneiderman and the Educational Policy Committee in Spring 2011. Calculus Laboratory I will be assessed using the uniform projects for the course designed by Dr. Sormani and the Calculus Committee some years ago. It is a corequisite for the Calculus I course.

Spring 2011 Update (January 2012)

Due to faculty illness and injury, we were not able to complete this plan in Spring 2011. We are very short on full time faculty in our department and no new faculty have been hired to replace the faculty who have retired and resigned in recent years. We have designed the Calculus I final in Spring 2011, but were only able to implement it in Fall 2011.

Adjuncts who volunteer to submit their data for MAT175 will have their sections of the course analyzed. One adjunct already voluntarily submitted the data for four sections of MAT155. We are very short on staff this Spring but hope to complete the analysis next summer. Moving forward we plan to design the uniform Calculus II final this Spring and implement it this Fall. When the reports are completed the data will be posted under the respective courses.

Planned Spring 2011 Analysis Completed (September 2012)

The completed analysis and report for MAT175/MAT155 is now available. This is based on the data from Fall 2011 using the final designed in Spring 2011.
