Musical Theatre 2021-2022 Auditions

If you or anyone you know is interested in auditioning for Musical Theatre for next year at Lehi High School, please tell them to go sign up for an audition date time at the link found at the bottom of this post.

Music and Dance auditions will all be held in person at Lehi High School in the auditorium on Wednesday, March 10th. Students will be singing AND dancing in groups of 4. They will enter in through that back, house right door and exit through the back, house left door. Social distancing will be observed. All applicants will sing first individually and then dance as a group.

You will be doing the music audition first (individually) and then the dance audition (in a group). Come dressed to move for the dance. If the time slots are all filled - email mnelsen@alpinedistrict.org and I will add more slots. Please prepare 16-32 bars from a musical (this is about a minute of singing usually) for your audition. While you may sing acapella, we would prefer you bring back tracks. Out of an abundance of caution, no piano or accompanist will be provided. You will need to have your tracks cued up and ready to go and able to connect to our sound system via aux cord. Please provide your own adapter if you have a device without a headphone jack. We expect you to be able to sing and act at the same time. Personal choreography is not required at all for the singing audition. Just tell us a story through your acting and voice.

You will receive a video with the choreography for the dance audition via the email you provide on the form. Come prepared to do the dance from the video. If you would like to review the dance with some of our students or get additional help, come early and assistance will be provided in the hall outside of the auditorium and/or in the drama room. Those students will be there starting at 1:00pm.

Dance videos will be sent to the email address you provide by next Wednesday, March 3rd. You need to sign up before then in order to receive the dance video early. You will not have rehearsal time in the space.
