Simeon Leete(17xx-17xx) B1,0096

Simeon Leete is one of the Leete pivotal historic figures: He was shot and killed at the "Battle of Leete's Island" and has a tombstone in the Leetes Island cemetery that is somewhat famous (here). The National Rifle Association had an article on the battle in their American's First Freedom Magazine (October 2001), written by Douglas Miller. Simeon was 28 when he died, leaving his wife, Zerviah, and 3 young boys, Anson, 4, Augustus, 2, and Simeon Jr, a few months old. Zerviah's maiden name was Norton and she was made of heroic stock in that both lines trace back to the Guilford Convenant.
